Devaneio by Omar
Omar Introduction
Omar, is a 25 years old music producer and generative artist from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
My relationship with art comes from my childhood, where I painted pictures with materials won by an old lady, our neighbor Elza, who was a talented artist. She taught me many things, from clay sculptures to canvas painting.
I have always been fascinated by art in general, music, paintings, photography, and poetry. Along with computing I’ve been playing with codes since 13 years, I took a break to start producing music, and I returned when I started in college with a bachelor’s degree in Systems Analysis and Development
I discovered generative art created with code in October 2021, and since then I have been amazed and very interested in learning this and mixing my love of art with programming.

“devaneio” is a generative abstract and minimalistic representation of a dream state or imagination, using pointillism and lines that intertwine and intersect in a chaotic and organic way. The screen’s surface is covered with crooked, broken lines that seem to float in empty space.
Exhibitions and well-known cooperation cases: Stains on a Canvas
This project is an exercise in simplicity, simulating stains of ink made through points and noise.
Since creating art with code, I’ve wanted to reproduce the physical with the digital.
Stains On A Canvas emerged from this desire to produce a hand-made canvas painting.
Stains On A Canvas’s background textures use points or grids, and the algorithm explores the maximum difference between each iteration. The collection is divided into styles, named after popular flowers in my country [Brazil]. Colors are randomly generated to create unique tones paired with various shades and shadows.
