P1xelboy Introduction
P1xelboy (born 1978) is a generative artist from Liverpool, England, with an MSc in Computer Science. He draws from his experiences in manipulating data and working with technology and his passion for computer games, retro graphics, and pop culture. Most P1xelboy’s work is long-form, created using p5.js / Processing, and is often geometric in nature, influenced by the generative art pioneers and evoking memories of earlier times.
P1xelboy’s work has been exhibited internationally including at the Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt, Artize Gallery Palm Springs, NEORT++ Tokyo, and Adelia Art Gallery Liverpool, where two pieces were selected for exhibition by both Kate Vass and Paris Hilton. In 2022 he was proud to have been invited to create a report in honor of the late generative art pioneer Herbert W. Franke alongside some of his idols including Frieder Nake, Vera Molnar, Casey Reas, Mario Klingemann, Yazid, and Zancan.

Apparition — “an unusual or unexpected sight”.
This piece manipulates squares by rotating and skewing them to make beautiful dithered patterns.
The resulting output resembles a mirage, dream, or trance-like state. P1xelboy is fascinated by what we see (or don’t see) when our vision is blurred or our eyes are closed and hope that the collection produces many unexpected shapes and landscapes.
